Hot Dog in the City
It was too damn hot to work on the house today. When I pulled into the driveway I looked at Apollo and he said "when are we going to The Beacon to get some tea?".

Hot Pants
The hot water has arrived. The tankless water heater is finally functional. Hard to believe what it took to get it operational.

Saturday In Tha Park
Its a saturday morning and even though I said I would work today, I decided to kick back and smoke a cigar. Lots of the time (most the time) I don't take the time to step back and enjoy the fruits of my labor over the past 9 months. I am sitting out in front of the house, the sun hasn't started breaking through the trees and there is a nice breeze blowing. Its a good morning in duncan park.
I took the time to water all of the plants and Apollo is doing his best to roll in any mudd he can find. If you live here, enjoy the day, if you live in seattle enjoy the 60 degree weather. Peace.

My name is mudd
This week involved a lot of mudd. Erosion control, fighting with piedmont gas, landscaping, and painting.
Hopefully after this weeks efforts my neighbours back porch won't be a mudd fest. The main thing that I did was divert the water that runs from the front right side of the house into my neighbours side yard. At one time, before the addition and all of the side yard excavation, that was the waters natural flow. The water was cleaned by grass and etc. I placed 2 x 12's as the base of the side fence, stapled landscape fabric to it, added a base of rock, and covered it with an out. 2 feet of mulch. There will be a large planter added to the other side of the fence that will catch any other water passing through. I also added a silt fence along the back property line to aide with the lots erosion issues. With these two things in place I should be good to go.
I also had my guys dig out the water line trench in the backyard. I picked up 200ft of cpvc to run in it. That should be added in next week. That will give the garden and garden shed water access.
I also added plants to the front flower beds. I chose perennials that can take shade with minimal sun. I also picked up a set of old iron furniture for the side patio area. Mixed with swivel eames chairs I picked up. With everything out there it is starting to look pretty hip. I have some ipe wood that I am building some planters out of for the side over the weekend. More to come
Painting. Stanley and barry have been getting it done. The sun room is chaulked and primed. Jerry and I spent thursday cleaning the first floor out prepping for them. More to come.
Ballard electrical came in and got the downstairs wired up. We have lights! They also wired up the sun room receptacles. I also had ellis lock come and install new locks on the front and side doors.
The house finally has gas. After several heated conversations with piedmont gas and trip to the city by my father. A new meter is in place. Lawson heating and air will be there next week to cut over the furnace and tank less water heater.
Well that is about it. If you see me over the weekend and want a tour stop in. Also see you at the preservation trusts new store grand opening downtown spartanburg.

DIG me a hole
Spent the weekend digging up the front yard walkway and front steps stepping stones. I also filled in where the last two oak trees were cut down. I got lucky and it rained Sunday so it really helped leveling out all of the fill dirt on the walkway and tree holes.
The main reason for the dig up of the front stepping stones was drainage. For years there has been a drainage issue. By doing what I have done no water will now collect by the front steps. All water is being diverted to the side yards and into the street. More updates to come this week
